My next race is coming up this Sunday at Disneyland and I've been prepping to go. It's been challenging for me to train properly because of the heat...but I'm gonna run my butt off!

This past Monday, I ran 10.5 miles...my #1 hero (Mellie) rode his bike beside me to to keep me company and safe since I was running in the dark. He cheered me on and encouraged me to finish even after his long day at work. It was like the scene from Rocky, all I needed was some stairs to run up and wave my arms around like a champ .

Then today, in continual preparation to go to Disney, I wanted to make sure my work, and life (aka - my computer) needed was in tip top shape. I backed up my data and decided to take it in to the Apple Store because my case had cracked due to over use, and some design flaws according to some mac forums. I made my reservation with the genius bar and made my way in. Once there, the friendly genius guy helped me promptly and said they'd take care of my laptop in 3-5 days. I said "WHAT!!!" I can't wait 3-5 days, I need to leave for LA. He kindly checked with the Techies in the back to see if they could rush my fix and he said 'yes!'. Long story short, he got my laptop fixed in less than an hour!

I wasn't going to say anything, but the idea is making me sick and I figured I'd just share.

I ate chicken yesterday!



Not intentionally of course. I had ordered a completely cheeseless veggie pizza and sat watching tv as I devoured it. It just so happened that I looked down and noticed a weird looking slice of mushroom. Hmmm?? Weird for a mushroom. So I pulled it off and examined it. Is this cheese? No. It's not goowy. Then it dawned on me. IT'S CHICKEN!!! I ate I don't know how much of a chicken that got tossed on my pizza!!!!

Yes, I'm being dramatic but its been a very long time since I've eaten meat, and if I was going to, I'd have liked it to have been my choice. Because my life was being threatened by some meat terrorists, or it was for the safety of someone close to me. Not because it got tossed in my pizza. Dammit! The gross part of it is, I can still taste it. It was like a salty, metallic tasting over processed seitan. BLEH. It makes me sick to my stomach just thinking about it.

I know this was an accident and it could have happened to anyone. However, I'm a bit traumatized. Even this picture is making me nauseous.

I heard from an old friend today. It's been years since we last talked, but after a quick game of 'catch up', it felt like old times. It's always nice to hear that others are doing good and making positive strides to be the best they can. I received positive words of encouragement about my soychick designs, which meant a lot too.

It is often said that your core friends or people you consider as close circle of friends reflect you as a person. These people can have serious influences on your life, so choose wisely and make sure they are people that help you strive to be a better person!

Some of these friends you talk to daily, or weekly and others you communicate with less frequently. Sometimes life gets in the way and some core friends get busy and fall into the background temporarily, but continue to play a major role. My old friend is one of those with a permanent seat on my "board" and will continue to have a seat even with a few absences. I'm glad things are looking up for my friend.

I came back from vacationing in Kauai a few weeks ago, and haven't been feeling too hot. Not sure what it is. Perhaps, the heat, maybe I'm home sick (I consider Kauai home even if I've never lived there ), lacking in good foods (eating too much processed food) or maybe its just stress. Whatever the case, I've been lethargic and a bit tired which is causing people around me to worry. I'm not too concerned, but its nice that people care.

The thing that bugs me though...is when people think my diet is the cause of it.

My mother does it. "Are you still NOT eating meat?". Here, have some fish. WTF?!?
My friends say, maybe you're not feeling good because you need animal protein? Perhaps you should eat chicken? again, WTF?

It's funny how if an omnivore is sluggish, its because they're not well rested, or maybe they caught a cold. If a vegan or vegetarian is "off", its because they don't eat meat. GRRRR. I'd honestly rather take fists full of medication then eat any part of an animal and this is coming from a girl that HATES meds!

HAHA. Just needed to bitch. All better now.
